CinemaTech is the leader in luxury home theater and media room design. For over 25 years, we have partnered with ultra-high-net-worth estate owners, architects, interior designers, builders, and AV integrators to create world-class entertainment spaces.
 
Our work combines interior architecture, acoustics, custom seating, integrated technology, lighting, and bespoke detailing into highly technical and beautifully executed environments. Unlike traditional interior design or architecture firms, CinemaTech specializes specifically in luxury residential theaters, media rooms, integrated entertainment spaces, and acoustically driven environments. 
 
The ideal candidate will have a genuine interest in highly technical luxury environments, immersive entertainment spaces, and the intersection of design, architecture, construction, and technology. Candidate will have demonstrated leadership skills where she/he has managed multiple team members and many fast-moving projects. Experience or interest in audio/video integration, media environments, and technical project coordination is highly valued.
 

Position Overview

CinemaTech is seeking a Senior Design Manager to lead our luxury residential theatre design team. This role is ideal for a highly organized, technically sophisticated & trained design-minded professional who thrives in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment. They should understand how to translate design intent into highly detailed, buildable solutions. Successful client facing with UHNW clientele is a must. 
 
This is not a traditional interior design manager role. The position is specifically geared toward professionals with strong experience in technical residential design, project management, consultant coordination, and construction documentation, with a genuine interest in media environments, integrated technology, acoustics, and AV coordination.
 
The ideal candidate is equally comfortable managing projects and teams as they are producing and reviewing technical drawings. Success in this role requires strong communication skills, organizational discipline, proactive coordination abilities, and the ability to manage multiple moving parts across complex residential projects.
 


Key responsibilities

·       Development of Design Development and Construction Document drawing sets
·       Coordination with architects, consultants, AV integrators, contractors, fabricators, and specialty trades
·       Management of project timelines, deliverables, and consultant communication
·       Construction administration, shop drawing review, and site coordination
·       Oversight of technical detailing, buildability, and drawing quality
·       Supporting internal workflow improvements, standards, and team coordination
·       Assisting with client presentations, showroom coordination, and project communication
·        
 

Qualifications

·       7-15+ years of experience within audio engineering field, luxury residential interior architecture, architecture, technical interior design or related fields is required
·       Strong experience managing high-end custom residential projects from design through construction
·       Demonstrated experience coordinating consultants, contractors, fabricators, AV professionals, and specialty trades
·       Strong team leadership & coordination and project management skills required
·       Experience developing Design Development and Construction Document drawing sets and project specifications
·       Experience visiting construction sites, documenting progress, reviewing shop drawings/submittals, and assisting with construction coordination
·       Strong understanding of residential construction methods, detailing, and buildability
·       Advanced AutoCAD proficiency required
·       Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, rendering software, or 3D visualization experience is a plus
·       Ability to read, interpret, and review construction drawings, specifications, RFIs, shop drawings, and technical documentation
·       Possesses a high taste level and strong understanding of luxury residential interiors, materials, finishes, and detailing
·       Audio/video integration knowledge, acoustics/sound awareness, media room experience, or experience coordinating technology-driven residential environments is strongly preferred
·       Understanding of AI tools, workflow automation, and technology platforms that improve efficiency, organization, drawing production, and overall team workflow is highly valued
·       Ability to produce high-quality technical drawings efficiently while helping improve systems, standards, and internal workflows
·       Interior Architecture, Architecture, Interior Design, or related degree preferred

This position is based in one of CinemaTech’s primary markets:
 
·       Fort Lauderdale / Dania Beach, FL
 
 
Exceptional candidates can expect financial assistance with relocation. Candidates must be located in or willing to relocate to one of these markets. Due to the highly collaborative and client-facing nature of this role, fully remote candidates will not be considered. 
 

Travel

Travel is required for client meetings, showroom events, site visits, project coordination, and team collaboration. Travel is typically expected 1-2 times per month, but frequency may vary depending on project schedules, client needs, and company events. Candidates should be comfortable traveling between project locations, showrooms, and partner offices as needed.
